Friday Five

1. How do I make it stop raining? When you work that one out, let me know.

2. Where’s your favorite place to chill out? A bookstore with WiFi and a coffee shop.

3. What’s the deal with Corn Nuts? Uh, they’re tasty?

4. If it itches, do you scratch it? Yes.  Hence the hole in my spine right now.

5. Tell me your favorite guilty-pleasure super-bad-for-you food. Vending machine Do-nut sticks.  I cannot get enough of those things.

Friday Five, 27 May

  1. Beer, wine or liquor? Preference of brand/type?  That’s all alcohol.  No thanks.
  2. What has frustrated you lately?  The mail is being slow.
  3. If someone gave you $1 million (or whatever currency your country uses) right now, what would you do with it?  Pay off my debts, put some away in savings, buy land to build a house on, and have some fun with what was left.
  4. What’s your favorite random question?  Um…I don’t have a favorite random question; if I did it wouldn’t be random.  Besides, I’m bad at having favorites.
  5. Do you have any special plans this weekend?  A little bonding time with my mom, other than that no.

Friday Five

  1. If you won a $500 gift card to any store in the world, what store would you choose? It would heavily depend on how broke I was feeling.  Really broke, grocery store.  Only sorta broke, fabric store for clothes.  Not broke, likely a bookstore.
  2. What’s something you can do now that you couldn’t do five years ago? Watch TV shows on my computer at home.  Unless the question is “what new skills do you have”, in which case I seem to have finally worked out how to read crochet patterns.
  3. Quick, what’s the FIRST song you can think of with the word “crazy” in the title? The Patsy Cline one.
  4. Complete this sentence: Life’s too short for _________. …dealing with idiots.
  5. Do you have any special Friday-only treats?  I would say hotdogs, for the joke, but I don’t actually do that, so no.

Friday Five

1. Tell us something you’ve done in the last 24 hours that’s made you happy.  Watched the courtroom scene from My Cousin Vinnie.  She so totally pwns the prosecutor.

2. What’s the last thing that really scared you? I have to pick one thing?  Let’s start with the state of the world and work down.

3. Where’s the last place you went out for a meal? The Mexican place down the street from my office.

4. What’s the last thing your significant other said to you? “Talk to you later, sweetie.”

5. Want to come over and watch the UFC fight with me tomorrow night? Good God, no.

Meme Time

  1. What time do you usually wake up in the morning? About 6:30.  If it’s not a work day I usually go back to sleep.
  2. Coffee or tea? Funny you should ask that, since I have just this morning discovered once again that there is nothing I can do to coffee that will make me like it.  Once you take out the overwhelming bitterness, what’s left is barely a taste at all, just a sort of dusty water effect.  I do this every year or so, on the off chance that the correct taste bud has finally turned on, and it never comes out well.
  3. What did you have for breakfast?  An apple fritter from Starbuck’s–see above about the periodic coffee experiment.
  4. What color are the sheets on your bed?  At the moment, light blue in satin and matte stripes.  I got them a few months ago and it’s finally been warm enough to take off the flannel sets.
  5. What did you dream about last night?  Not to put too fine a point on it, that is none of the blog’s business. 🙂

Friday Five

1 – If you could change only one of the following four things about your life, which would it be? (Explanation optional).

Your health
Your job
Your home
Your significant other

Job, hands down.

2 – Facebook, Twitter or both?

Why isn’t “neither” an option?

3 – Favorite Charlie Sheen Quote?

“I am on a drug; it’s called ‘Charlie Sheen’!”

4 – What are you looking forward to this weekend?

Nothing specific, beyond it being a weekend.  There’s a 40% off coupon at the bookstore…

5 – What was your favorite childhood toy?

I’m bad at favorites.

Friday Five

1)If you could get rid of one or more holidays, which would you remove from the calendar?
The ones that are pretty much an excuse to get drunk–St Patrick’s Day in non-Irish communities, Cinco de Mayo in the US, that kind of thing.

2)Which would win in a fight? Bear or cougar? Be prepared to defend your position.
Depends on whether it’s a straight-up strength contest or if the cougar can use its superior manuverability.

3)Pumpkin Pie…friend or foe? (If you’re not down with the pumpkin, please to be tempting us with your choice of pie)
I dunno, I like it.

4)What is your favorite movie quote?
It puzzles me that I’m the only person who seems to have a hard time picking “favorites”. I like a lot of movie quotes; I need context!

5)If you could cast your very own reality show, what would it be about and who would the contestants be?
I’d redo the BBC’s Surviving the Iron Age, only without silly challenges for the participants to waste time on.
